We’d like to assure our clients that during this time of uncertainty, Afrihost is dedicated to serving you with Pure Internet Joy! We understand that this isn’t something we could have all seen coming, and we ask that you be patient with us during this lockdown. The whole of South Africa will need us, so there will be delays and a flood of inbound calls/requests.
Here are a few answers to questions clients have asked us via DM and comments. We hope to answer some and more. Thank you and keep safe!
Lockdown FAQs
Will my speed be upgraded?
Certain Fibre Providers are offering Fibre line speed upgrades at no additional cost. Qualifying clients will be notified via email soon.
Will Fixed Wireless LTE routers and SIMs still be delivered?
Our couriers have said that they are able to keep delivering these routers, as the routers provide an essential service to the people of South Africa – if anything changes regarding this we will let clients know.
Are Fibre installations going to continue during the lockdown period?
Yes, new Fibre installs will still take place for the biggest Fibre providers (Openserve, Vumatel, Frogfoot) and many of the smaller ones. There are some Fibre providers (e.g. TT Connect) who have let us know they will not be installing. We are still finalising these details with the Fibre providers and will send another email when we have more clarity.
Is support still around?
Our Support channels will still be available as per normal hours advised on our website.
What happens when my router is faulty?
Please mark it for return in ClientZone as per normal, as the team is still delivering as per normal. There might be delays however, we ask for your patience.
Are your support members sanitising?
Yes, all our staff members have sanitisers, and are keeping healthy and clean.
What about technicians coming out for faults?
Technicians will still come to resolve faults for lines that are down, or have an outage. Please also be patient with them as there might be roadblocks and delays, however, they will do the best that they can.
We thank you for your patience and are happy to have our current clients experience Pure Internet Joy!
