1.Convert a YouTube video into GIF.

Whether you pronounce it “jiff” or “gif” nothing is worse than not having the right GIF response in the comments thread. Fortunately there is a handy way to turn your favourite YouTube video into a GIF in a heartbeat. Gifs.com provides a very easy to use service that does the conversion for you, all you need to do is add gif before youtube in the URL (e.g. https://gifyoutube.com/watch?v…etc)  and it will redirect you to gifs.com for the conversion.

2. Sign out of Facebook remotely

There is nothing worse than realise you forgot to log out after having used someone else’s device to use Facebook. That’s your personal information and you certainly don’t want one of those embarrassing status updates posted on your profile. Fortunately there is a handy way to log out of Facebook remotely.  In such instances all you need to do is click on the ‘Settings’ tab of your FB page, then select ‘Security’, and finally, click on ‘Where you’re logged in’. You will be automatically signed out from all other unwanted devices where your FB profile is still open.

3. Cold Turkey

This is a rather extreme hack and for those of us who lack total discipline when working on the internet. The internet provides literally millions of momentary distractions, which, if left uncontrolled, can turn a once productive citizen into a blithering mess of memes and reddit wormholes.

Cold Turkey is a handy application that helps those of us with poor life choices focus on what really matters, work. The site locks down select websites for an allocated period of time, nullifying any distractions. Congratulations, you are now a functioning member of society!

4. Search an incomplete phrase in Google

When trying to recall lyrics, a phrase or quote, more often than not we get these half right, or not at all. However, there is a simple solution provided by the great internet deity, Google. A handy trick will have you finding the correct phrasing using this handy trick. Putting an asterisk in a quoted sentence will indicate that a word is missing, Google will then search the rest of the line knowing the asterixed words are missing and find the correct sentence or phrase. Hey presto, quote away you silver-tongued lyric genius!
