Not being able to figure out why your mobile data isn’t working can be quite frustrating especially when you entirely depend on your mobile data to stay online.

Let’s go through a few checks you can do if you ever come across such an incident:

1. Make sure your account is verified.

Once you’ve signed up for an Afrihost data package, it is very important that you verify your account by sending a clear color image of your ID to legal@afrihost.com. You’ll receive an automated response to confirm that your account is verified.

Once verified you should be able to use the data without any trouble.

2. Check your phone’s APN settings.

In order to access your Afrihost mobile data, you’ll need to ensure that the APN settings on your device are set to “afrihost”. If this is not the case, you’ll not be able to access your Afrihost mobile data. Visit our APN setup page for step-by-step instructions to configure your device to use Afrihost Mobile Data: https://www.afrihost.com/airmobile/apn.

3. Have you used all your data?

You can check how much data you have left via ClientZone or the Afrihost App.

And if you’ve used all your data, you can easily top-up in ClientZone or the App.

The prepaid number is no longer active on the mobile network.

Lastly, if you have completed all of the above-mentioned checks and you are still unable to connect, this may mean that your prepaid number is no longer active on the mobile network. To check if this is the case, revert your APN settings back to the default “MyMTN” APN, if you aren’t able to connect to your MTN mobile data while on that APN it would suggest the number has been deactivated, if you can then it suggests that the problem could be with the Afrihost APN. Either way, please get in touch with us concerning this one as you will need our assistance to get it resolved.
